My love/hate relationship with piano

Growing up, I was one of the countless victims of Chinese kids who were forced by their parents to learn piano. I never liked it and I hated that I have to sit motionless for 20 minutes everyday playing songs that do not even appeal to me ( 20 min for a 6 year old is a long time). But as I grew up, having taken many piano examinations, I begin to enjoy it. I began to see it as a way to relax, and a way to escape from my problems ( I have always been a procrastinator), and I liked how the individual notes created by my fingertips were able to form a beautiful melody & transport me to a very different world ( very much like reading a book). And playing piano has taught me many things, like the virtue of being patient, and perseverance, and the fact that I actually like piano.
