I am the least creative person I know.

This painting took me a long time to complete, as you can see with all the crazy/unnecessary details. Fifteen-year-old-me was happy with the result, and was especially proud of the galaxy. But looking back, it looked rather childish. Almost like a collage of things ( stock photos) just thrown together on a canvas.

I wouldn't call myself an artist exactly. I create art, that's true. But not as productive as I would like. Also, I wouldn't consider myself very creative. When I create art, it often feels like I'm just making a pastiche of existing stock photos.

Being an artist is hard. You have to constantly look for inspirations/ draw inspirations from your own experience, and there's not a distinct line between your work and your life. Your work is your life. But then, if you are passionate about what you do, you wouldn't call it work at all.

I've always wanted to be an artist growing up. For me, it had meant recreating beautiful images. However, as I grow up, I've realized that art is so much more than that. Meaningful art is so much more than that. So I guess my definition of art right now is something that could elicit a feeling in the audience.
